Moissanite - The 4 C

Moissanite - The 4 C

Much like diamonds, moissanite jewels are evaluated based on a grading system that focuses on the four C’s: cut, color, carat, and clarity. Each moissanite gem undergoes a meticulous examination for color and inclusions by skilled GIA gemologists.

1. Cut Moissanite jewels are hand-faceted by master gem cutters to maximize brilliance and fire. The precision of the cut is crucial in enhancing the gem's natural sparkle, ensuring that only the most skilled artisans shape each moissanite.

2. Color Moissanite is typically near colorless, with some gems exhibiting subtle undertones of green, yellow, or gray. Premium moissanite, like the Dhia Brilliant variety, offers up to four grades whiter color, significantly enhancing its brightness and brilliance.

3. Carat Size Unlike diamonds, moissanite is generally sold by size rather than weight. For example, a 6.5mm moissanite is equivalent to a one-carat diamond in size but weighs approximately 0.88 carats, making it a perfect fit for standard diamond settings.

4. Clarity During the growth process, moissanite can develop small inclusions. However, only stones that meet strict quality standards are made available in the market.
